The SMART Symposium on the Expanding Genetic Code and Beyond and GCE Workshop successfully concluded in Shenzhen on September 21–23, 2026. Hosted by the Shenzhen Medical Academy of Research and Translation (SMART), the meeting brought together researchers to discuss genetic code expansion, protein engineering and synthetic biology.
Yun Ge served as a member of the organizing committee and presented our work on targeted protein glycosylation, highlighting protein-based chemical biology tools for writing, erasing and studying glycosylation on specific proteins. Scientific talks, poster exchanges and a practical workshop provided opportunities to share methods and build collaborations.
